Guardian Catholic School is committed to making a quality Catholic education available to all who meet our admission criteria. To close the gap between our fees and the full cost of educating a student, parents are required to pay their monthly bills on time through FACTS Management Company, to participate in fundraising, and to complete 25 hours of volunteer service annually. Financial assistance is available from the following sources.

Success by 6 Success by 6, a program of the United Way of Northeast Florida operated by the Early Learning Coalition of Duval, provides 2-year early learning grants for 3-year-olds to high-quality, accredited childcare centers. Success by 6 is a year-round program for families with income of 120- 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. If you have a child who turns 3 on or before Sept. 1 of the current year and you are working at least 20 hours per week and/or are enrolled in school full-time you may be eligible. Apply for Success by 6 at: https://spe.schoolreadiness.org/pe/ This link is also available on the school website. Look for Success By 6 in the Highlights section.

Voluntary Pre-K (VPK) The state of Florida provides tuition, book and registration fees for children who are four years old by September 1. Parents must apply to the state for VPK and bring the Certificate of Eligibility to Guardian Catholic to initiate enrollment. The program is free to all Florida residents. Contact the Early Learning Coalition of Duval County, with offices at 5216 North Pearl Street, Jacksonville, FL 32208; 8301 Cypress Plaza Drive, Suite 201, 32256; and 5310 Lenox Avenue, #5, 32205. Their phone is 904-208-2044; or visit their website at www.elcofduval.org. You can also register your child online at home or wherever you have access to the internet and a document scanner. Log on to www.VPKDuval.org. See current year VPK Registration flier for more information.

Step Up For Students (SUFS) The state of Florida also provides tuition assistance to families who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch or based on income, and are enrolling a child in kindergarten through grade 8. You will pay Guardian Catholic the difference between whatever SUFS pays for your child and the actual cost of Guardian Catholic’s tuition and book fees. Registration fee is not covered by SUFS. Parents are responsible to apply for this scholarship through the SUFS website. Admission to Guardian Catholic is not complete until you have received an Award Letter from SUFS and brought a copy to the school office. To learn more, please visit www.stepupforstudents.org; email info@sufs.org; or call 877-735-7837.

McKay Scholarship GCS accepts the McKay scholarship for returning students only.

Guardian Catholic Schools The Guardian is a privately-funded scholarship which provides partial tuition assistance to families in financial need who do not qualify for any other scholarship but may still need financial help. Because these funds are limited, students who qualify for Success by 6, VPK or SUFS are not eligible for Guardian funding. Access the online application for FACTS Grant & Aid by clicking on the FACTS icon on the school’s website, www.stpiusjax.com.

School Readiness Program (funded by the Early Learning Coalition) Guardian Catholic is a provider for Extended Day Care through the School Readiness Program and accepts reimbursement from the ELC.
