The mission of St. Pius V Parish School is to provide the African-American community with a quality education in a Christ-centered environment where each student is challenged to be a responsible individual who is commited to the love and service of God and neighbor.

  1. Each student is a child of God created as a valued individual with unique spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical needs.
  2. We are called to continue to serve the African-American community without discrimination toward others.
  3. Parents are the first teachers of their children and MUST share in the responsibility of promoting their success.
  4. Teachers, staff, administrators, parents/guardians, students and community share in the responsibility for promoting a faith relationship with Jesus Christ based upon the message of the Gospel.
  5. The values of the Catholic Christian faith are transmitted through education, example, and prayer.
  6. Building on a foundation of faith, our students will develop an understanding of and respect of all peoples and their faith and culture.
  7. The Christian principles we teach enable students to make correct moral judgments.
  8. Students should understand and fulfill their responsibilities as citizens in the world by valuing social justice with favor to the poor.
  9. Our curriculum prepares students for higher levels of learning, with a variety of experiences, so they may realize their potential and develop a love for learning.
  10. The school community is committed to continuous improvement to meet the ever-changing demands of society, enabling students to become self-directed life-long learners.
